Consulting & Coaching

Consulting and coaching are two very different things. Coaching tends to be less about giving answers and making recommendations, but more asking powerful questions and helping others find their own answers. Where consulting tends to be more of a doctor-patient relationship, one person has the answer or solution and is telling the other what to do (more or less). For that reason most people that do this specialize in one or the other because of their own personality and experience.

In my experience, I've found that we get better results when I'm coaching integrators and consulting visionaries. The end goal is the same, and we get very similar results, but for me and the clients that I've worked with - it just works better this way.

MY AREAS OF EXPERTISE

STRATEGY

  • Whether it's growth planning, exit planning, change management, long term, short term, or simply navigating the chaos, strategic planning is all about starting where you're at now and getting what you want. There's an art and a science, but it's a very simple combination of a few powerful questions to start, then developing a rhythm of execution to stay on track.

LEADERSHIP, MANAGEMENT & COACHING

  • Performance and behavioral management is a common growing pain for many businesses, getting the right people in place is usually hard enough much less developing a whole new skillset in being accountable for others. There's a plethora of great management books out there but I've found a few timeless tools that, when implemented correctly, act as a catalyst for personal and professional growth for your team.

MARKETING

  • Having a high level marketing strategy in place is very powerful and easy to do, yet often overlooked. Starting with a combination of a few tools such as SWOT, BGC Matrix, Ansoff Matrix & Buyer Persona lays the foundation for a dynamic and actionable marketing strategy.

FINANCIAL

  • Keeping good financials is a daunting task for many businesses because let's be honest, not everybody loves numbers and spreadsheets. My approach to this isn't meant for the accountant or CPA, it's meant for you, digestible and understandable so that you actually can use it in meaningful ways for your business.

CULTURE

  • Culture is the internal aspect of your companies marketing strategy, it's your brand as an employer. This is making sure all of your people excited to come to work every day, loving what they do, feeling safe, and leaving fulfilled at the end of every day.

ENTREPRENEURS & STARTUPS

  • We've all heard the statistics around starting and keeping a small business alive, the odds aren't great. But entrepreneurs are a special group of people who are fueled by the risk, we're doers, and we challenge the status quo. We surround ourselves with others who get it and think like entrepreneurs, sometimes this means we have to come up with creative solutions and color outside the lines.

PROCESS ENGINEERING

  • Though most entrepreneurs won't realize the ROI in full-blown quality control standard operating procedures, all entrepreneurs benefit from clarity and repeatability in their core processes. This is key for growth, training, efficiency and accountability, and it's really just a matter of creating 1-3 page living documents for each of the core processes (most businesses really only have about 10 core processes).
